Easy Celebration Cake

Ask a grown-up to help with measuring, mixing, and using the oven.

Ingredients

1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 eggs
½ cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla
Colorful sprinkles, if desired

Directions

Ask a grown-up to preheat the oven to 350°F.
Grease an 8-inch round or square cake pan.
Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Stir just until smooth.
Mix in a few sprinkles for an extra-colorful cake.
Pour the batter into the pan.
Bake for 25–30 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
